Construction firm Murray & Roberts, a group of world-class companies and brands is a JSE listed group with headquarters in Johannesburg, South Africa.

 

According to the group, Samsung Heavy Industries had awarded Clough a contract for hook up services between the well and flow line on the giant Ichthys liquid natural gas (LNG) project in Australia.

 

“Considering the declining oil price and current pressure on the global oil and gas market, we are very pleased with these awards,” said Murray & Roberts group CE Henry Laas.

 

Project management is set to be executed from Clough’s office in Perth, with the support of Clough’s South Korean joint venture. The scope of work involves the preparation and execution of offshore hook-up activities.

 

Mr Laas said that the Ichthys LNG project, operated by Japanese energy group Inpex is based on a strong relationship over many years and Clough’s investment in developing its hook-up capability and implementing key productivity tools and processes to reduce cost and deliver greater certainty of project outcome for clients.

 

In the meantime, CH-IV International has been selected as owner’s engineer for Eagle LNG Partners’ production and export facility in Florida in the US. CH-IV International based in the US city of Baltimore, is accountable for the engineering completion of the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission application.

 

Mr Laas noted that the CH-IV project is yet another successful offer in the owner’s engineering space in the US even though it may not be from a contract value point of view.

 

“The project would help provide a starting place for clean-burning natural gas for the island states in the Caribbean,” CH-IV International president Jeffrey Beale said.
